Ω Labs
A workspace for the AI safety and governance community of Montréal.
Ω Labs
Ω Labs gives the AI safety and governance community in Montréal one stable physical home for its events, meetings, and coworking. The deeper bet is on lowering coordination cost: trust forms and common knowledge accumulates faster when people share a room over weeks and months than when they coordinate over email. Montréal already has people and institutions. Ω Labs aims to be one helpful piece of connective tissue across them.
We are at 3813 Saint-Denis. One main room, plus a kitchenette and a balcony. Capacity up to 10 people for coworking, up to 20 for events. Bilingual environment. Near Sherbrooke metro station, 1st floor. The kitchenette and balcony (summer) double as call rooms. Fast wifi, a whiteboard, a low-volume printer, drinks and snacks are provided.

Working norms
Working volume is low but not silent: speech-to-text and quiet conversation are fine. Take calls and meetings in the kitchenette or on the balcony.
Clean up after yourself. The space stays good through collective stewardship: dishes washed, surfaces wiped, supplies restocked when low.
Confidentiality: unpublished work, organizational plans, and personal information shared in the space stay in the space unless the person sharing gives consent.
See the full code of conduct.
Governance
Members are stakeholders. We hold a member meeting every month. Any member can make proposals, and decisions are by equal vote. Members can request an event slot.
HΩ is the organizational host. Coordination happens on the AI Safety Montréal Slack.
Ω Labs is funded by memberships and donations.
